Allergies

Allergic reactions, resulting from an overactive immune response to typically harmless substances, can cause a range of symptoms from mild to life-threatening. Treatments include antihistamines like Loratadine (Claritin) and Cetirizine (Zyrtec), which are effective in relieving sneezing, itching, and runny nose. For nasal allergies, corticosteroid nasal sprays such as Fluticasone (Flonase) and Budesonide (Rhinocort) reduce inflammation and congestion. Severe allergic reactions, like anaphylaxis, often require emergency treatments with Epinephrine auto-injectors (EpiPen). Long-term treatments may involve allergen immunotherapy or allergy shots.
