Hair Loss

Hair loss, or alopecia, can be addressed with several types of treatments. Topical Minoxidil (Rogaine) is one of the most common and is applied directly to the scalp to stimulate hair growth and slow balding. Oral medications like Finasteride (Propecia) are used primarily for male pattern baldness, working by inhibiting the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that contributes to hair loss. Ketoconazole, found in certain medicated shampoos, is believed to have a mild anti-androgen effect and may help in reducing hair thinning. Advanced treatments like hair transplant surgery and laser therapy are also options for more severe cases.
