Heart Disease

Medications for heart disease are diverse, addressing various aspects of cardiovascular health. Statins, like Rosuvastatin (Crestor) and Simvastatin (Zocor), lower LDL cholesterol and are key in preventing heart attacks and strokes. Beta-Blockers such as Atenolol (Tenormin) and Carvedilol (Coreg) are used for managing hypertension and heart rhythm disorders. ACE Inhibitors, including Ramipril (Altace) and Enalapril (Vasotec), help relax blood vessels and reduce blood pressure, crucial for heart failure management. Diuretics, notably Furosemide (Lasix) and Spironolactone (Aldactone), help eliminate excess fluid and sodium, reducing the heart’s workload. Antiplatelet agents like Aspirin and Clopidogrel (Plavix) are used to prevent blood clots.
